Natural cosmetics workshop B1+ (Pärnu)

We will make a mosquito repellent, a lip balm, and a body lotion while practising our Estonian.

Chemistry teacher Anne will take us into the hands-on world of chemistry and natural sciences. She will give out measuring cups, scales, and recipes for everyone and provide guidance during each step of making eco-friendly body care products. We will take a look at units of measurement. We will talk about household chemicals, compare store-bought and homemade products, find differences and similarities.

During these hands-on activities, participants can develop their skills of listening (instruction in Estonian), speaking (asking questions, exchanging ideas), reading (understanding recipes, units of measurement) in Estonian.

Trip: Forest game with a storyteller B1+ (Aegviidu)

The forest game on Sõõriksoo nature trail lasts about 2 hours, followed by a discussion with a storyteller Ena Mets in the RMK Visitor Centre.

Listening and speaking are aimed at adult learners for the development of versatile language use, as well as better understanding of written and oral texts outside of the language courses. Supports the communication and oral expression, listening, and speaking skills of the participants.

Location: Aegviidu Visitor Centre and Sõõriksoo nature trail. The storyteller tells stories and together with the teacher encourages the participants to talk about topics related to nature.

Language Roulette invites you to practise Estonian! We meet virtually on Zoom in the format of short conversations.

We chat in Estonian for a limited time in a random group. The topics will be clarified at the meeting. A positive and free atmosphere is guaranteed.

Small talk fair B1+ (Pärnu)

The "Small talk fair" is a playful chat group for Estonian language enthusiasts, where we will get to know each other, exchange experiences, look for answers, and play team games.

At our first meeting, we will introduce upcoming events.

Participants can develop their skills of listening (all stories are in Estonian), speaking (free-form conversation), and reading (new words, simple questions) in Estonian. The meetings have a friendly and supportive atmosphere, a fun vibe, and coffee. Also suitable for more courageous language learners at the A2 level.

Great Estonian things – trip to the Estonian National Museum B1+ (Tallinn)

A tour of the museum, a visit to a workshop, and fun language learning exercises on the bus ride await you on your trip to the Estonian National Museum in Tartu. It is a day full of Estonian language and culture.

The event is intended for language learners interested in the Estonian culture who want to improve their Estonian language skills using active learning methods while simultaneously discovering the Estonian culture.

We are collecting the photos of the Integration Foundation’s history

On 31 March 2023, the Integration Foundation will be celebrating its quarter-century anniversary. For this reason, we ask you to share photos of your collaboration with us – the older, the better

The Integration Foundation was created on 31 March 1998 under the name Non-Estonians Integration Foundation. From the spring of 2008 to the end of 2009, the institution was called the Integration Foundation. In 2010, the institution merged with the Estonian Migration Foundation and the combined organisation became the Integration and Migration Foundation Our People (MISA). Since 15 March 2017, the foundation bears the name Integration Foundation again.

Send us any photos of your collaboration with the Integration Foundation – of joint activities, of people who have collaborated with us, and of our shared achievements. With these photos, we hope to preserve a significant part of the history of the foundation as well as of integration.

We ask you to send the photos no later than 20 March via e-mail to press@integratsioon.ee. Please include the following information with the photo files, so we could use the photos in the news channels and publications of the foundation:

  • The names of the people or places on the photo and if possible, the story behind it;
  • The date and location of the photo;
  • The author of the photo;
  • Confirmation that the Integration Foundation has permission to publish, archive, and reuse the photo. We always mention the author by name.

The size of the photos: the photos should be at least 1 MB in size, but other scans and reimaged photos are welcome too.

Thank you in advance to those who help preserve a small but important part of our Estonian history.

Board Game Night A2+ (Jõhvi)

Board games are not just for kids! After a busy day, you can play fun board games and talk to each other in Estonian in a relaxed atmosphere. Social board games are a good tool for developing and maintaining logical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

We will play various board games (Monopoly, Carcassonne, and others) and enjoy an evening in the company of Estonian language enthusiasts. The language of communication is Estonian.

Mängula A2-B1 (Zoom)

Mängula is an online Estonian language game event for all the foreigners who want to learn Estonian in a playful manner.

We gather once a month to play games that are designed for the Estonian language learners. In Mängula, the participants can practice Estonian in a fun way and meet the other Estonian language students around to world.

The organizer Riina Roasto is an Estonian language teacher, translator and a PhD student in Finno-Ugristics at the University of Vienna. Throughout the years of teaching Estonian in various universities and language schools in Estonia, Ukraine, Germany and France, she has discovered the advantage of using language games in the classroom. While introducing Estonian to foreigners, Riina has designed a great number of language games to ease the learning process and help the students to progress, while having fun. Currently, she is lecturing in Estonian Language and Culture at the INALCO University in Paris.
